Hello, my name is Jenny and I live in Hove. I have recently started working at Natural Balance where I am offering Advanced Clinical Massage treatments.
Advanced clinical massage is an effective outcome-based form of massage that specialises in the treatment of chronic pain. I recently completed my training with the Jing Massage school achieving a BTEC level 6 in Advanced Clinical and Sports Massage, the highest massage qualification in the UK!
I treat clients with a wide range of chronic pain conditions including MS, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, stroke, fibromyalgia, lower back pain, sports injuries, rotator cuff injuries, frozen shoulder and many more. I use a variety of techniques in the session including myofascial release, trigger point therapy, acupressure, stretching and teaching self-care exercises to do at home.
The aim of the session is to relieve pain, improve range of movement, provide relaxation and relieve stress. I use a warm, heart-centred approach which aims to help and support you with any psychological and social issues you may also be having.
My career has always leaned towards the caring professions and health care. I qualified as a Registered General Nurse at the Royal Free Hospital in 1995 and worked in many busy hospital wards in London and Cheltenham. I have been a massage therapist for over 20 years. I qualified in therapeutic massage with Michael Gibbons in Brighton in 2002, then went on to study Holistic Therapies at The MET Brighton in 2010-11, gaining qualifications in Aromatherapy, Swedish massage, Reflexology and Sports Massage.
Today, I work at the Sussex County hospital once a week for the charity called ‘Small acts of Kindness’, treating elderly patients at their bedside. I work at the Sussex MS Centre once a week. I am excited to be working at Natural Balance and helping improve clients’ pain and mobility.
Jenny is available on Thursday morning, Friday evening and alternate Saturday mornings.
