Full Body Massage
A full body massage may include the back, neck, shoulders, face, head, glutes, arms, hands, legs, feet, stomach and chest (for men).
Whilst it does not include the breasts on women it may include the Décolletage, the area from the collar bone down to where the breasts start.
That said, not all of these areas have to be included and some clients may have areas, such as their feet or stomach, that are too sensitive to be massaged. It is very much up to the individual and feeling totally relaxed is of paramount importance so treatments are always adapted accordingly.
Other areas, such as the shoulders, where people often hold a lot of tension may need more time, so good communication BEFORE your treatment is important to make sure the right focus is given to each area.
The Benefits of Full Body Massage
There are several benefits to having a full body massage over say, just a back massage and these include:
- Deeper relaxation.
- Includes areas where you are unaware of tension.
- The treatment feels more balanced.
- Can be more effective given the connected nature of our bodies and that muscles work in groups.
- Includes areas that may be compensating for issues/weakness.
